What:

When:
The crash occurred at about 8:16 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2016.

Where:
The crash occurred at the intersection of Pasadena Avenue South and Gulfport Boulevard in South Pasadena.

Why/How:
According to investigators, 22-year-old Christopher Carevic was operating his motorcycle northbound on Pasadena Avenue South approaching the intersection of Gulfport Boulevard.

20-year-old Mark Miklos was driving his pick-up truck southbound on Pasadena Boulevard South waiting to turn left at Gulfport Boulevard. Deputies say Miklos was facing a flashing yellow turn arrow while waiting for a clearing in traffic before making his left turn.

Deputies say the traffic signal for northbound traffic cycled to red and two lanes of traffic came to a stop. Carevic, however, failed to stop for the red light and continued through the intersection striking Miklos who had begun his left turn.

Deputies say Carevic was ejected from the motorcycle. He was transported to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Miklos was uninjured.

Carevic was wearing a helmet.

Deputies say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The investigation continues.
