What:
Pinellas County detectives have identified and charged a man linked to a Dunedin bank robbery.

When:
The armed robbery occurred at approximately 1:46 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2015. The suspect was charged on Wednesday, August 19, 2015.

Where:
The armed robbery occurred at the Valley National Bank located at 1352 Main Street in Dunedin.

Why/How:
Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide unit have identified and charged a man linked to a Dunedin bank robbery.

According to detectives, the suspect entered the Valley National Bank located at 1352 Main Street in Dunedin at approximately 1:46 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2015. As the suspect walked toward the counter, he stated “This is a robbery,” implied he had a gun and demanded money from the teller.

The suspect then took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the area on foot.

The suspect in the robbery has since been identified as 31-year-old Clinton Archer Wells. Wells was arrested on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 by the Clearwater Police Department for two bank robberies in their jurisdiction.

On Wednesday, August 19, 2015, Pinellas County detectives added a charge of Robbery with an Implied Weapon.

Wells remains in the Pinellas County Jail at this time.

The investigation continues.
