Competing against more than 30 other law enforcement explorer posts from across Florida, Pinellas County’s “Team Alpha” received the 4th Place overall championship trophy.  The state team was comprised of Explorer Lieutenant Lauren Paschall, Explorer Lieutenant Zoe Gambel, Explorer Sergeant Alvin Pinero, and Explorer Sergeant Jeremy Hernandez.  The team placed in four out of the seven different competition events.  They received a 2nd place trophy in the Active Shooter Event, 4th place in the Crime Scene Event, 4th place in the Arrest & Search Event, and 5th Place in the Traffic Stop Event.

The Post #900 Pistol Team placed 3rd overall at the competition.  The pistol team was represented by Explorer Major Spencer Shaw, Explorer Captain Kelley Butterfield, Explorer Lieutenant Lauren Paschall, and Explorer Sergeant Max Dulski.  Explorer Captain Kelley Butterfield took an individual shooting award for 2nd Place in the Expert division.  Explorer Major Spencer Shaw, Explorer Captain Kelley Butterfield, Explorer Lieutenant Lauren Paschall, and Explorer Sergeant Max Dulski were named the range master’s top 10 overall shooting averages for the year.  Success on the pistol range is attributed to the hours of range time provided at the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Pistol Range, as well as the instruction and encouragement of Post Advisors.

Post #900 members also participated in optional events including the Honor Guard competition, Drill Team competition, and Cell Extraction Team (CRT).  Color Guard members Explorer Major Spencer Shaw, Explorer Captain Kelley Butterfield, Explorer Lieutenant Zoe Gambel, and Explorer Corporal Luke Kujawski received a 2nd place trophy.  Drill Team members Explorer Major Spencer Shaw, Explorer Captain Kelley Butterfield, Explorer Sergeant Max Dulski, Explorer Corporal Luke Kujawski, Explorer Christian Bining, Explorer Savanah Long, and Explorer Jacob Calvalari led by Explorer Lieutenant Zoe Gambel received 3rd place overall in the Drill Team competition.  A new event offered this year was the CRT event.  The CRT team members Explorer Major Spencer Shaw, Explore Captain Kelley Butterfield, Explorer Corporal Luke Kujawski, Explorer Courtney Holly, and Explorer Jacob Cavalari placed 1st place overall!  An excellent start for the new event.

Explorer Major Spencer Shaw completed his term as the Youth President for the F.A.P.E..  Explorer Lieutenant Zoe Gambel was elected by her explorer delegates as the new Youth President of the F.A.P.E. for the 2015-16 year.  Explorer Lead Advisor Deputy James Butterfield was also placed as the State Adult Advisor for the 2015-16 year for the F.A.P.E.
