What:
Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) are investigating a deputy involved crash in Palm Harbor.   

When:
The crash occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2015.    

Where:
The crash occurred in the area of  U.S. 19 North,  just North of County Road 39.   

Why/How:
Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) are investigating a deputy involved crash in Palm Harbor.

According to investigators, Deputy David Vinson was traveling Southbound on US 19, just North of County Road 39 at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2015.

The driver of a BMW was traveling Northbound on US 19 and attempted to make a left turn in front of Deputy Vinson. Deputy Vinson’s marked Chevy Tahoe struck the passenger side rear of the BMW.

Both Deputy Vinson and the driver of the BMW, identified as Paul Vitale, were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation continues.
